Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how information may be handled when you use the FuelHub website (fuelhub.com.cy) and when you use the FuelHub mobile application (together, the “Services”). FuelHub helps users view and compare fuel prices in Cyprus across supported fuel types (including Unleaded 95, Unleaded 98, Diesel, Heating Oil, and Kerosene), together with related station information such as maps, directions, opening hours, and favourites, depending on the features available in your version of the app.
Important: This document is a practical first version intended for transparency. It is not legal advice and should be reviewed by a qualified legal professional before you rely on it for a production launch or regulatory compliance.
1. Who is responsible
The operator of FuelHub (the “we” or “us” in this Policy) is responsible for the Services as described on this website. If you have questions about this Policy or your personal data, contact us at support@fuelhub.com.cy.
2. Scope: website vs app
This Policy covers both the public marketing website and the FuelHub app. Depending on whether you only browse the website or you install and use the app, different types of information may apply. The website is largely informational and does not mirror every data flow that may exist inside the app.
3. Information the website processes
3.1 Waitlist and marketing emails
This website does not currently operate an email waitlist or newsletter signup. If you see a notice on the site that email signup is not active, please do not assume that your email has been stored by FuelHub through this website. If we add a waitlist or similar feature later, we will update this Policy and the on-page notice before collecting emails.
3.2 Technical and security information (hosting)
Like most websites, basic technical information may be processed automatically when you visit fuelhub.com.cy. Depending on your connection and our hosting provider’s configuration, this may include, for example, IP address, approximate region, browser type, date and time of access, requested pages, and HTTP referrer. Such information is typically used for security, abuse prevention, reliability, and aggregated statistics. Retention periods depend on our hosting provider’s logs and our administrative practices; we do not publish a fixed retention schedule here because it may change with infrastructure updates.
3.3 Fonts (Google Fonts)
This website loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those fonts, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address as part of a normal web request. Google’s handling of that information is governed by Google’s own terms and privacy documentation. If you prefer to avoid that request entirely, you can use browser settings or extensions that block third-party font requests, though the site’s appearance may change.
4. Information the app may process
The following describes categories of information that the FuelHub app may process, depending on how you use the app, which permissions you grant, and which features are enabled in your build. It is not an exhaustive technical specification of every field stored on a device or server.
4.1 Location
FuelHub may request access to your device’s approximate or precise location so we can show nearby stations, sort by distance, or improve map-based views and directions. For many users, location is optional: depending on your device and app version, you may still browse by district, search by place name, or use an all-Cyprus view without sharing precise location. If you grant location access, we may process location-related data to provide those features. How long such data is retained on device or server infrastructure depends on your settings, the feature involved, and our technical implementation; we do not warrant a specific deletion timeline in this Policy.
4.2 Favourites and preferences
If you save favourite stations or adjust preferences (such as default fuel type or display settings), we may process the data needed to remember those choices. Depending on the app version, that information may be stored primarily on your device, associated with an optional account, or synced through infrastructure we operate.
4.3 Optional notifications
If optional price-change notifications are available in your build, enabling them may require processing a push token or similar technical identifier, along with your notification preferences (for example, which station or fuel type you asked to watch). If notifications are not yet available in your build, this section may not apply until the feature is offered.
4.4 Accounts
FuelHub is designed so that core comparison features can work without creating a dedicated FuelHub account. If we offer optional sign-in (for example through an app store identity) or account-linked sync in the future, we may process account-related identifiers and profile elements needed to operate those features. This Policy will be updated if account sign-in becomes a core part of the product.
4.5 Maps, directions, and third-party apps
When you open directions or map links, you may leave FuelHub and interact with a third-party maps or navigation provider (for example Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze). Those providers process information under their own policies. FuelHub does not control what they collect when you use their apps or websites.
5. App stores
When FuelHub is distributed through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or similar channels, those platforms may process payment, download, crash, or diagnostic information in line with their own terms. Please review the store provider’s privacy information alongside this Policy.
6. Legal bases and use (summary)
Where European data protection law applies (including Cyprus), we generally rely on a combination of contractual necessity (to provide the Services you request), legitimate interests (for example to secure our systems and improve reliability), and, where required, consent (for example when you opt in to optional location access or notifications). The exact balance depends on the feature and context.
7. Sharing of personal data
We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information with service providers who help us host the website or operate the app (for example cloud hosting, email delivery if we enable contact forms, or push notification infrastructure if notifications are enabled). Those providers are expected to process data only on our instructions and where appropriate under contract.
8. International transfers
Infrastructure providers may process data in the European Economic Area or in other countries where they maintain facilities. Where transfers outside the EEA occur, we aim to rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) where required by law, subject to the practices of our chosen providers.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against accidental loss, unauthorised access, or misuse. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
FuelHub is intended for a general audience of drivers and is not aimed at children. If you believe a child has provided personal data inappropriately through our Services, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to investigate.
11. Your rights (EEA / UK overview)
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have rights such as:
- Access — to ask what personal data we hold about you in scope of this Policy;
- Correction — to ask us to rectify inaccurate information where we can;
- Deletion — to ask us to delete certain information, where there is no overriding legitimate reason to retain it;
- Objection or restriction — to object to or ask us to restrict certain processing in specific circumstances;
- Portability — where processing is based on contract or consent and is automated, you may have a right to receive some data in a structured, commonly used format;
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent (for example optional notifications), you may withdraw consent at any time through device or in-app controls, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Cyprus, this is typically the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection. Contact details should be taken from official government sources when you need them.
To exercise rights or ask questions, email support@fuelhub.com.cy. We may need to verify your request in line with applicable law.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we may also provide a more prominent notice on the website or in the app, where practical.
